What's the Point? Pendant

"What's the Point?" We all ask ourselves that at some point in our lives!

The compass points in this piece are extremely small and lightweight but the binocular lens makes them look huge!

This pendant was created using the metal-smithing technique called Repousse. This technique is used to raise the metal from the back side while it is securely fastened in pitch (basically tar).

Hammers and punches are used to raise the metal. Once raised a backing of sterling silver was soldered on. The compass points and the binocular lens were added last.

Binocular lens, stainless steel compass points (for drafting), sterling silver.

Measures- 1-1/2 inches square.
